I didn’t start CrossFit until about 8 weeks after having my son. The results were immediate.

Lori Christian, Publicist-VP, Universal Music Group Nashville

I was back in my pre-pregnancy clothes in four months and I didn't start CrossFit until about 8 weeks after having my son. The results were immediate. I have definitely gained more strength than any other work regimen I have done in the past. I like that I never feel like I am doing the same workout. Each day is different. I like that I can track my personal goals and see results that show I am getting stronger. I like that everyone is really friendly and encouraging.

The entire experience keeps me motivated everyday…

James Nail, Branch Manager for 7Fold Technologies Nashville, TN

The trainers are excellent, they have several different classes to accommodate a busy schedule and most importantly the people that work out there are awesome to be around.  The entire experience keeps me motivated everyday to work on my strengths and weaknesses. I am glad to be a part of CFBH as they are a part of me now.

It gives me more energy, improves my mood, and increases my confidence throughout my life.

Andrew Wood, Law Student at Belmont University

I chose CFBH after spending a year walking past the box and reading the sign "Someone who is busier than you is in here right now" and telling myself that I should sign up.  I wish I had signed up sooner. Since starting CrossFit 3 months ago, I have lost 22 pounds and cut 6% body fat.  It gives me more energy, improves my mood, and increases my confidence throughout my life. There is a level of teamwork that I haven't seen since I played organized sports in high school.

We all have to start somewhere and I was accepted from the start…

    Cherie Wurst, stay-at-home mom

There is a sense of pride because we all have to start somewhere and I was accepted from the start where I was at in my life. Not only has entering the box helped my self esteem but it's been a place where I feel the coaches and clients alike genuinely care for each other ...feels like being with family.

CrossFit Brentwood Hills Staff

We have 9 coaches here at CFBH, Jesse Walker, Nandor Tamaska, Jennifer Meade, Kate Dial, Judd Alsup, Devin Tolentino, Nate Dodd, Rachel Northam and Augie Christian. Co-owner Nandor Tamaska works hand in hand with our team of coaches on the methodology and programming of our CrossFit workouts. All of our coaches are at minimum CrossFit Level 1 certified. In each 60 minute class you will do a conditioning workout, a strength workout and a main workout, or WOD(Workout Of the Day) Each athlete is coached and trained to the level of physical and mental ability they possess for the workout at hand, while still being pushed to meet their specific goals.

    Nandor Tamaska

    CrossFit Level 1 Trainer

    About Nandor Tamaska

I started working out when I was 13-14 with my dad doing the traditional Monday Wednesday Friday, back and bis chest and tris and legs. I continued this way for the next 5 years. After high school, I joined the Marine Corps - this is when more of the "CrossFit" style was introduced to me. It was about moving your body as quickly as possible and being strong and mentally tough. There wasn't any program out there yet like CrossFit that showed you how to do it and why and when. So I was back at the gym, doing what I saw in the magazines. After 2 years active duty I returned to the civilian world with a love of being in the gym. So naturally I got a job at "Ropemans Fitness" in Doraville Ga. I didn't know it at the time but he trained pro athletes like Ray Rice, Shannon Sharp, Rodney Harrison, Hugh Douglas just to name a few. I became an intern to rope shadowing him, watching and learning. After a year I became an IFPA certified trainer and began training myself. I later would open my own studio and work with many different types of clients. All this time still the same concept of chest and tris back and bis legs. After 5 years of this I was invited to come out to my friend's "box" CrossFit East Decatur. I had to do push presses with 65# air squats and floor wipers. This destroyed me and that's when I knew CrossFit was the real deal! I went on to become CrossFit certified then my wife and I moved from our home town to Nashville to open our own CrossFit. The rest is what many of you all know now and love CrossFit Brentwood Hills!

    Rachel Northam

CrossFit L-1, CrossFit Mobility, CrossFit Rowing

    About Rachel Northam

Rachel has been CrossFitting for nearly 2 years now and brings to CFBH a lifetime of athletic achievements and experiences. “I played both high school and collegiate basketball and softball. I was named the best offensive player in basketball, and scored the most home runs in for Shelby County Softball Team during my senior year of high school. I began to coach collegiate women’s softball and really fell in love with being on the giving end of the coach/athlete relationship. When I discovered CrossFit, I found a community that strived for continued longevity, good health and a dose of friendly competition – I knew I finally found my place!”
Coach Rachel specializes in general health and wellness to supplement strength training. “I’m deeply passionate about eating healthy and teaching my athletes how they can do the same. They say that being fit starts in the kitchen, and while that’s true, they fail to mention what to do in the kitchen! When my athletes start to really understand how nutrition can supplement their lives and start implementing these diet changes is when I really start to see them shine in class.”
If you’re looking to be coached by a dedicated, determined, and hardworking trainer, Coach Rachel is your girl! “Together, we can be the healthiest, fittest, and most fulfilled version of ourselves. All you need is the right team behind you.”
